About

I’m a middle-aged divorced native Tucsonan who loves cats, books, quality TV, and computer games. I’m especially fond of science fiction, but also enjoy fantasy, historical, and just about everything other kind of fiction, as well as nonfiction relating to psychology, science, sociology, and philosophy. My favorite books of all time are Patrick O’Brian’s Aubrey/Maturin series, The Enemy Papers by Barry Longyear, A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter M. Miller, The Magicians series by Lev Grossman, and Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series (especially the City Watch and Sam Vimes). Favorite TV shows are those with unusually good writing and character development, such as Rectify, Breaking Bad,┬áThe Wire, Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, Buffy/Angel, and the first four seasons of Supernatural (it was still fun after that, just not as good as it was). And, of course, Star Trek.
